David & Rene

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in A Warrior’s Oasis, Inc.

Hello, I’m David Dickey, President and Co-Founder. I retired as a US Navy Master Chief after 35 years of serving our Nation. I’ve seen many service members return home from deployments suffering silently from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). Having spent 10 months in Kuwait and Iraq as the senior enlisted leader, I believe that A Warrior’s Oasis (AWO) can make a difference in the lives of those who suffer by providing an environment where veterans and service members can spend some time in a relaxing place. I did not come up with this idea on my own, it was my very good friend, Rene, that suggested this idea and off we went!

Hi, I’m Rene Marcoux, Secretary and Co-Founder. I’ve been home school teacher for 15 years and am a proud Navy mom. For several years I’ve been actively involved with the US Naval Sea Cadets Corps and other non-profit organizations. I also know several service members and veterans who are silently suffering from PTS.

We believe that A Warrior’s Oasis can be that place where service members, veterans, and their families from all service branches can get away from the daily chaos and noise to relax. The concept is to create a natural, relaxing environment which allows for unwinding from stress triggers. From relaxation, sleep, and therapies, the hope is that new neural pathways can be developed to support coping with PTS. AWO’s goal is to provide that environment where service members and veterans, with or without their families, have a place where they can decompress. PTS tends to cause much strife and anxiety in families of those who suffer. A Warrior’s Oasis will offer programs where families and couples can receive therapies from counselors and practitioners who have experience with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

Thank you for visiting!
